There's a bewildering choice of

in Kurashiki, with the Bikan district being the place to head to for excellent-value set-lunch deals. In the evenings many places are closed, so you might have to head towards the station area, which is also where you should go if you want fast food. The town's signature dish is
mamakari sushi
