fiogf49gjkf0d Getting around
central Yokohama is best done on the JR Negishi line (the local name for Keihin-Tohoku trains).
Trains
run every five or ten minutes (minimum fare A?130) between Yokohama, Sakuragicho, Kannai and southerly Ishikawacho stations, each within walking distance of selected sights. A single
subway
line connects Kannai and stations north to Shin-Yokohama, but it's more expensive and usually slower than regular trains; services run every five to fifteen minutes and the minimum fare is A?200. The most enjoyable way of moving about the city, and sightseeing at the same time, is on one of the
Sea Bass
ferries
that shuttle between Yokohama Station (from beside Sogo department store) and southerly Yamashita-koen via Minato Mirai. There are departures every fifteen minutes (10am-7pm), with one-way tickets costing A?600 for the full fifteen-minute journey, or A?340 to Minato Mirai. From Yamashita-koen you can also join the
Marine Shuttle
for a variety of
sightseeing cruises
round the harbour; prices start at A?900 for forty minutes.
