fiogf49gjkf0d If you arrive in La Paz by bus you'll be stuck at a
bus station
about 5km out in the suburbs at Jalisco and Independencia. Long-distance services often arrive in the middle of the night and you may have no choice but to walk into town, though this is not recommended. During the day you might be lucky enough to pick up one of the irregular buses ("Centro/Camionera"); a taxi should cost around US$3.
Ferry
passengers arriving at Pichilingue are better off - there should be buses to town, and also colectivo taxis. From the airport, 12km south, there's a fixed-rate taxi service.
The most useful
tourist office
(daily 8am-10pm; tel 1/122-5939) is in the centre, on the waterfront at 16 de Septiembre, though there is another with the same hours and information on the highway 5.5km north of town.
