American Express Paseo de Montejo 95, between C 43 and C 45 (Mon-Fri 9am-5pm, Sat 9am-noon; tel 9/928-4222). Banks Most banks are around C 65 between C 60 and C 64, have ATMs and are open 9am-4pm. The most centrally located is Banamex in the Casa de Montejo on the south side of the zA?calo which also has an ATM. Books English-language guidebooks are sold at Dante Touristic Bookstore on the corner of C 57 and C 60. Alternatively borrow English-language books from the MAŠrida English Library, C 53 between C 66 and C 68 which also functions as a meeting point for the city's expat community. Buses From the first-class Came, ADO run to Campeche, Mexico City, Palenque and Villahermosa. Caribe Express provides a comfortable, a/c service with videos to Campeche and Villahermosa, as well as CancA?n, EscA?rcega, Playa del Carmen and a number of other destinations. There are also services to Akumal, Villahermosa, Tulum and Playa del Carmen run by Autotransportes del Caribe. Both Caribe Express and Autotransportes del Caribe also have desks in the main first- and second-class buildings. Buses from the second-class station, on C 69 between C 68 and C 70, leave for Campeche (Autotransportes de Sureste; 4hr); CancA?n (Expreso de Oriente; 6hr); EscA?rcega (Autotransportes de Sureste; 6hr); Palenque (Autotransportes de Sureste; 10-11hr); Playa del Carmen (Expreso de Oriente; 7hr); Tuxtla GutiAŠrrez (Autotranportes de Sureste; 20hr); Valladolid (Expreso de Oriente; 3hr); and Villahermosa (Autotransportes de Sureste; 10hr). Of MAŠrida's smaller bus stations, C 50 on the corner with C 67 serves Autobuses de Occidente en YucatA?n, for destinations west of MAŠrida, and Lineas Unidos del Sur de YucatA?n: buses leave for CelestA?n (5am-8pm; 2hr), Oxkutzcab (hourly) and Sisal (2hr). Autobuses del Noreste en YucatA?n leave from C 50 no. 529, between C 65 and C 67, for RAo Lagartos (6hr), San Felipe (7hr) and TizimAn (4hr). Directly opposite, Autotransportes de Oriente leave for destinations inland and east of MAŠrida, with hourly buses to CancA?n (6hr) and to Izamal, PistAŠ and Valladolid. Car rental Budget, at the Holiday Inn (tel 9/925-6877) and at the airport (tel 9/946-1393); Hertz, at the airport (tel 9/946-1355); and National, C 60 no. 486-F (tel 9/923-2493) and at the airport (tel 9/946-1394). Colectivos Colectivos depart Plaza de San Juan, C 69 between C 62 and C 64, for DzibilchaltA?n, Oxkutzcab and Ticul, among other destinations. On the northern side of the plaza there are departures to Progreso (1hr) and to DzibilchaltA?n, Sierra Papacal, KomchAŠn and Dzitya. Consulates Opening hours are likely to be fairly limited, so it's best to phone ahead and check. Internet There are internet cafAŠs on every street in central MAŠrida - try Universo , C63 between C 62 and C 64, or Oasis, C 57 between C 62 and C 64. Laundry If your hotel doesn't do laundry, try Lavanderia Agua Azul, C 70 no. 505 at C 61, which offers full-service washes, stain removal and ironing. Post office C 65, between C 56 and C 56-A (Mon-Fri 8am-7pm, Sat 9am-1pm). Has a reliable Lista de Correos that keeps mail for ten days. Telephones Use one of the ubiquitous Ladatels or one of the many casetas dotted around town: Caseta Condesa, C 59 near C 62; Computel, Paseo de Montejo on the corner with C 37; or TelPlus, C 61 no. 497, between C 58 and C 60.
