The route to Bergen

If you're a train fanatic or already committed to a rail pass, you need to go to Oslo to travel on to Bergen. If not, you can get there more directly by bus and/or ferry. For speed, if not economy, the best bet is the

), which runs all year. This requires advance seat reservations (tel 51 86 87 80) and costs around 590kr one way, though students and interrail-pass holders qualify for discounts of up to fifty percent off the ticket price.
