fiogf49gjkf0d The main
tourist office
, at Portal Mantas 188 (Mon-Sat 9am-noon & 3-6pm; tel 223701 & 263176), a short block from the Plaza de Armas, is run by the Regional Tourism Directorate. They sell the Cusco Tourist Ticket and have maps and brochures and can answer most enquiries, though they don't speak much English. Information is also available from a booth at the airport (open to meet morning flights); at Terminal Terrestre bus terminal, though this is rather dominated by one tour company; and the Instituto Nacional de Cultura office (Mon-Fri 9am-4pm) on the corner of Garcilaso, next to the Museo Regional HistA?rico. However, the best sources are often the
tour agents
around the Plaza de Armas or along
calles
Plateros and Procuradores, running uphill from the plaza. They provide leaflets promoting their own tours, but many also offer idiosyncratic plans of the city and simple maps of the Sacred Valley and nearby regions. The bi-weekly English-language
New World News,
available from bookshops and on the streets, has good local information.
