Buses Warszawa Zachodnia handles all international departures to western Europe and the Baltic States, as well as major domestic destinations to the south and west. Dworzec Stadion is the departure point for buses to Belarus and Ukraine, as well as services to eastern Poland. International tickets can be purchased through Orbis offices as well as from international counters at bus stations. Domestic inter-city buses run by the private Polski Express (tel 022/620 0326, ) are faster and more comfortable than their nationalized counterparts, though slightly more expensive; they operate from a stop on al. Jana Pawla II, just behind Warszawa Centralna train station. Note that there's a single hut selling tickets, and little in the way of food or drink-buying opportunities - come early and well prepared. Wilca 23/29 (Mon-Fri 8am-6pm, Sat 9am-3pm; tel 022/545 6161) is expensive but good, and has a 24-hour emergency service; the C.M. Medical Centre, 3rd floor of the Marriott hotel (Mon-Fri 7am-9pm, Sat 8am-8pm, Sun 9am-1pm; tel 022/630 3030), offers a similar service. Most central of the main hospitals is the State Clinical Hospital, ul. Marszalkowska 24 (tel 022/621 3241). The emergency ambulance number is 022/999, but the private Falck ambulance service (tel 022/9675) will also respond, and you've more chance of being understood in English. Internet Internet cafes are springing up all over Warsaw. Reliable, centrally located ones include Casablanca, ul. Krakowskie Przedmiescie 4/6 (daily 9am-midnight); Empik, ul. Marszalkowska 116/122 (Mon-Fri 9am-10pm, Sun 11am-7pm); Relax Cinema, ul. Zlota 8 (daily 10am-10pm); Silverzone, ul. Pulawska 19/21 (daily 9am-11pm); and W Sieci, ul. Freta 49/51 (daily 9am-11.30pm). Pharmacies There are 24-hour apteka on the top floor of Warszawa Centralna train station; at Warszawa Wschodnia station; al. Solidarnosci 149; ul. Pulawska 39; and ul. Wilcza 31. Police Report crimes at the police office at ul. Wilcza 21; include a full list of stolen items and their value. Post offices The main office is at ul. Swietokrzyska 31/33. It handles fax, poste restante (at window no. 12: postcode 00-001) and is open 24hr. Warszawa Centralna station also an office (postal services Mon-Fri 8am-8pm, Sat 8am-2pm; phones 24hr): go to the main upstairs hall and it's behind the train information board at the far end from the escalators. Trains Warszawa Centralna serves all international routes and the major national ones. Northbound trains also stop at Warszawa Gdanska, west- and southbound at Warszawa Zachodnia, and eastbound at Warszawa Wschodnia. Srodmiescie station, just east of Warszawa Centralna, handles local traffic to Lowicz, Pruszkow and Skierniewice. For international tickets, an alternative to queuing at Warszawa Centralna's kasa miedzynarodowa (international counters), which are upstairs on the second floor, is to book at Orbis offices. There are also fax facilities at some internet cafes (see above). Travel agents Almatur, ul. Kopernika 23 (Mon-Fri 9am-7pm, Sat 10am-2pm; tel 022/826 2639 or 826 3512, ) organize cheap student travel. Mazurkas, inside the Forum hotel at ul. Nowogrodzka 24/26 (tel 022/629 1878, ) organize Warsaw sight seeing trips and excursions to outlying attractions, notably Chopin's birthplace at Zelazowa Wola. Orbis, at ul.
