Pensoes are concentrated just north of the harbour along Rua Infante D. Henrique and the noisy Rua Conselheiro Bivar, and around Praca Ferreira de Almeida on Rua Vasco da Gama, Rua Filipe Alistao and Rua do Alportel. Among the better places is the increasingly upmarket Pensao Madalena (tel 289 805 806; ?15-20/$24-32/€27-36) at Rua C. Bivar 109; Casa de Hospedes Adelaide (tel 289 802 383; ?15-20/$24-32/€27-36), near the bus station at Rua Cruz das Mestras 7-9, is the best budget choice - during the summer they also open the roof as a dorm and charge around €5-6.25 per person. Also excellent value is the eccentric Pensao Dandy , F. Alistao 62 (tel 289 824 791; ?15-20/$24-32/€27-36), and Pensao Sao Felipe , Rua Infante Don Henrique 55a (tel 289 824 182; ?10-15/$16-24/€18-27). A slightly more expensive option is a stunning English-run 18th century farmhouse, Monte Do Casal, Cerro do Lobo (tel 289 991 503; ?25-30/$40-48/€45-54). The campsite (tel 289 817 876) is at Praia de Faro, and is always packed in summer - phone ahead; take bus #16 from town. There are restaurants to meet most budgets: try the Restaurant Dois Irmaos , on Largo Terreiro do Bispo, or for something less expensive, cram in with locals at the Churrasqueira Santo Antonio , close to the train station at Largo de Camoes 23. The town's nightlife centres around Rua do Prior, a cobbled alley full of bars and discos; 3rd Millenium is one of the best discos. Internet access is available at Ciberlusa, Rua Conselheiro Bivar 40-42 (opposite McDonald's) for €5/hr.
