is extremely picturesque, particularly when viewed from the hilly coastal roads as you enter town from the north or south. This unspoiled allure has often drawn the attention of film producers: scenes from
Superman II, Water

White Squall
were shot in and around town.
Taxis
and
buses
heading north to Castries and south to Vieux Fort and for the east coast cluster around the town square and the waterfront; the latter is also the place to hop aboard convenient
water taxis
, which traverse the area servicing all of the nearby bays, many of which are difficult to access from the land without your own car. Water taxis (tel 758/454-5420) also offer
sightseeing trips
