Your likely point of arrival (and drop-off point for buses from Brnik airport, 23km north of the city), is the main train and bus station , on Trg osvobodilne fronte, ten minutes' walk north of the centre. The main Tourist Information Office (TIC) is in the old town on Stritarjeva next to the Triple Bridge (June-Sept Mon-Fri 8am-8pm, Sat & Sun 10am-6pm; Oct-May Mon-Fri 8am-6pm, Sat & Sun 10am-6pm; tel 01/306-1215 , www.ljubljana.si ). In addition there is an information desk at the train station (June-Sept daily 8am-9pm; Oct-May Mon-Fri 10am-5.30pm; tel 01/433-9475). Both offices hand out maps and book rooms. Ljubljana's buses are cheap, frequent and usually overcrowded. You can pay in cash by depositing notes in a box next to the driver (a single journey currently costs a flat fare of 210SIT) or by using the slightly cheaper tokens ( zetoni ; 150SIT) bought in advance from post offices and most newspaper kiosks.
