City transport

Johannesburg's public transport system leaves much to be desired: it's slow and unreliable, and practically nonexistent after commuting hours. Cars are very much the order of the day, and without one, Jo'burg can seem a much larger and more daunting place. If you're not driving, though, don't despair entirely: with patience and a bit of stamina, it's possible to negotiate your way around the city using the buses , including the city's sightseeing bus, and some areas are easily explored on foot . Avoid the city's train system, which has a poor reputation and very limited services.
