Arrival and information

The N2 bypasses Mossel Bay and, of all the buses, only the Baz Bus comes right into town, dropping you off anywhere on request. The large intercity buses all stop at Shell Voorbaai Service Station, 7km from the centre, at the junction of the national highway and the road into town. The town itself is small enough to negotiate on foot, but should you need transport, Jordaan runs a taxi service (tel 044 691 1191).

The busy tourist information bureau (Mon-Fri 9am-5pm, Sat 9am-1pm; tel 044 691 2202, fax 044 690 3077, ), bang in the centre on the corner of Church and Market streets, has shelves of brochures about Mossel Bay and the rest of the Garden Route, and a small but very adequate map of the town.
