With the notable exception of the Gannet , the Point is the nicest place for food and drinks, mainly because of the large stretch of undisturbed sea frontage it offers - one that has seen an upsurge of development over the past few years. The small Point Village shopping development at the north end has a couple of inexpensive to mid-priced family restaurants, opening daily from the morning until 11pm-ish.

Annie's Kitchen 25 Marsh Street. Sandwiches and a cheap hot lunches in the town centre.

CafAŠ Baruch Liberty Centre, Bland Street. A good place for toasted sandwiches, salads and decent coffee near the museums.

CafAŠ Gannet Market Street tel 044 691 1885. Mossel Bay's top restaurant, close to the Bartholomew Dias Museum Complex, with moderately priced seafood lunches and dinners, served daily with considerable flair in a stylish garden with glimpses across the dusk-washed harbour.

Delfino's Point Village tel 044 690 5247. Italian food with a view.

King Fisher Point Village tel 044 690 6390. A friendly and relaxed joint above Delfino's , specializing in seafood and offering good views.

Tidals Waterfront Tavern & Pub The south side of the Point. Mossel Bay's liveliest drinking spot buzzes until the early hours on Fridays and Saturdays, in a stunning seaside location overlooking cliffs and the open sea.
