Books, newspapers and maps Metro, c/Gracia 31, off c/AlhA?ndiga, to the southwest of Plaza de la Trinidad, is the best international bookshop with a wide selection of books on Granada, Lorca etc, plus walking maps. For maps, try also the LibrerA­a Dauro at c/ZacatA­n 3 (a pedestrian street between the cathedral and c/Reyes CatA?licos) or for a more specialist selection Cartografica del Sur, c/Valle InclA?n 2, southwest of the train station. Foreign press is sold by the kioscos in Plaza Nueva and Puerta Real.

Bullfights are held in season at the Plaza de Toros, Avda. del Doctor OlA?riz 25. The bullring's ticket office (tel 958 271 950) or any of the tourist offices has details of upcoming corridas .

Shopping ArtesanA­a El Suspiro, Plaza Santa Ana 1 at the northeast end of Plaza Nueva, has a selection of ceramics from surrounding granadino villages, as well as Moroccan pottery and jewellery; its charming Scottish dueA±a is a fund of local information. Castellano, c/Almireceros 6, between c/Elvira and Gran VA­a, is the best place to buy jamA?n serrano and also stocks regional wines and brandies. Traditional perfumes are made by Aromas de Al-Andalus, c/Almireceros 5 (near Castellano above), using ancient Moorish formulas. La Alcena, c/San JerA?nimo 3, on the cathedral's north side, is a great place to find the special products of AndalucA­a, including olive oil, wines, cheeses, embutidos and lots more; the friendly proprietor speaks good English. Handmade (on the premises) guitars can be tried out and purchased at a number of shops along the Cuesta de GomA©rez, leading to the Alhambra.

Swimming pool Piscina Miami (tel 958 250 031), junction c/Arabial and c/Virgen Blanca (west of the centre), has an Olympic-size pool, kids' pool, sunbeds and a good restaurant.
