fiogf49gjkf0d Most people arrive at the
train
station on Thanon Charoen Muang, just over 2km from the landmark Tha Pae Gate on the eastern side of town, or at the Arcade
bus station
on Thanon Kaeo Nawarat, 3km out to the northeast. Getting from either of these to the centre is easy by songthaew or tuk-tuk. Coming south from Tha Ton, you'll wind up at the Chang Phuak bus station on Thanon Chotana, 500m from the city centre's northern Chang Phuak Gate and 2km northwest of Tha Pae Gate. Beware that many of the low-cost private buses from Bangkok's Thanon Khao San stop on a remote part of the Superhighway, where they "sell" their passengers to various guesthouse touts. Arriving at the
airport
, 3km southwest of the centre, you'll find banks, a TAT office, and taxis (B100 to the city centre). The pink B9 bus (5.30am-10pm) also runs from outside the airport compound into town.
