Khun Pochana,
by the clocktower at 529/4-5 Thanon Banphaprakan, serves tasty Thai and Chinese standards.
Haw Naliga,
west of the clocktower at 402/1-2 Thanon Banphaprakan, offers a more interesting and varied Thai menu, and is a little pricier, but
Salungkhum,
at 843 Thanon Phaholyothin (across from the Cosmo petrol station, between King Mengrai's statue and the river), is rated by locals as serving the best food for the price in town. Another excellent option is the mid-priced
Cabbages and Condoms,
on the Ground Floor of the Museum, 620/25 Thanon Tanalai, which is run by the family planning organization, and does traditional Northern dishes, and plenty of veggie dishes. Other useful information
