There's a free in-town shuttle service between 7.30am and midnight. Ketchum's
visitor center
, on the corner of 4th and Main streets, runs a free reservation service for
accommodation

). Room rates everywhere are highest in the heavy summer and winter seasons. You can save a bundle by staying in nearby Hailey, twelve miles south of Ketchum.
The luxurious 600-room
Sun Valley Lodge
resort is very expensive in season, though worth every cent in spring and fall (tel 208/622-4111 or 1-800/786-8259; winter & summer $160-250, spring & fall $75-100); also run by the resort is the
Sun Valley Inn
(winter & summer $100-200). A cheaper option in Ketchum is the comfortable, welcoming
