Greyhound buses run east and west along I-80 and south to Denver, while Powder River buses travel through eastern Wyoming to Colorado, Montana and South Dakota. Both companies share the depot at 1209 S Greeley Hwy (US-85), along I-80 a mile south of town. The visitor center , at 309 W Lincolnway (June-Aug daily 8am-6pm; rest of year Mon-Fri 8am-5pm; tel 307/778-3133 or 1-800/426-5009, ), has a free detailed map of the city, and operates a two-hour trolley tour of Cheyenne in summer ($8 for adults, $4 for children) as well as ghost tours . For information on the state in general, stop by the Wyoming Travel Information Center, perched at the windy highway junction of I-25 and College Drive (daily 8am-5pm, closed holidays; tel 307/777-2883 or 1-800/225-5996).

Cheyenne has no shortage of diners serving cowboy-sized breakfasts, lunches and Mexican food; try Los Amigos , 620 Central Ave (tel 307/638-8591). Sanford's , 115 E 17th St (tel 307/778-2739), is a big, lively brewpub with great food and a mixed crowd, and comedy and live music downstairs. Between June and August the Terry Bison Ranch, some ten miles south of town, holds a night rodeo on Tuesdays and Saturdays ($7, prices vary; tel 307/634-4171).
