Greyhound pulls in at Tumbleweed Express gas station in Bluebird Lane, 2.5 miles east of downtown beside Grand Avenue. The visitor center at 800 S 3rd St (Mon-Fri 8am-5pm; tel 307/745-7339 or 1-800/445-5303, ) is staffed by volunteers and is supplemented on summer weekends by a bright yellow railway caboose by the I-80 underpass (Sat & Sun 8am-5pm). Room rates are good at the downtown Travel Inn , 262 N 3rd St (tel 307/745-4853 or 1-800/227-5430; $50-75), while the Motel 6 at 621 Plaza Lane (tel 307/742-2307; $35-50) is cheaper still, and clean and pleasant to boot. Corona Village , 421 Boswell Drive (tel 307/721-0167), serves authentic and inexpensive Mexican food ; great for vegetarian choices, including lasagna, and salad and sandwich combos (entrees $6-10), is the menu at the buzzing Jeffrey's Bistro , 123 Ivinson Ave (tel 307/742-7046). Lovejoy's Bar and Grill , at 101 Grand Ave (tel 307/745-0141), has great all-American food and tasty desserts. Coal Creek Coffee Co , 110 Grand Ave, is a friendly student hangout, and serves good espresso, bagels, muffins and lunch specials. Students, yuppies and bikers pack out the frontier-style Buckhorn Bar , 114 Ivinson Ave (tel 307/742-3554), for live rock bands, while the friendly Cowboy Saloon , 108 S 2nd St (tel 307/721-3165), is a fun place to go to hear country music.
