fiogf49gjkf0d As with the rest of Vietnam, there is no efficient and impartial tourist information office in Ho Chi Minh. Your best sources of
information
are the tour agencies and travellers' cafes. They also offer motorbike and car rental, guide services and day-trips; some also do longer tours and visa services. Popular jaunts include a one-day trip to Tay Ninh and the Cu Chi tunnels ($8); one- to five-day tours of the Mekong Delta; and the ten-day trawl up to Hue, via the central highlands and the coast.
Two publications carry
listings
information in and around Ho Chi Minh City; the
Vietnam Economic Times
' ($5 monthly) supplement
The Guide,
which can also be purchased separately for $1; and the weekly
Vietnam Investment Review
's ($2.50)
Time Out.
A fairly detailed city
map
is available from street hawkers, the GPO or from Vietnamtourism and Saigontourist.
