The historic core of Hoi An consists of just three short streets: Tran Phu is the oldest and even today is the principal commercial street, with plenty of crafts shops and galleries; one block south, Nguyen Thai Hoc has many wooden townhouses and some galleries; and riverfront Bach Dang holds the ferry station and several waterside cafAŠs. A combined ticket ($3) covers Hoi An's more famous sights and allows access to four places: the temple on the Japanese Covered Bridge; the Historical and Cultural Museum (including Chua Ong), the museum of trade ceramics, or the museum of Sa Huynh culture; one of the participating Chinese Assembly Halls; and one of the participating merchants' houses or family chapels. Extra tickets are available for less than $1 per sight. Tickets are on sale at the Tourist Office of Hoi An at 12 Phan Chu Trinh, at 52 Nguyen Thi Minh Khai (tel 0510/861982), 19 Nhi Trung and 5 Hoang Dieu; all offices and relevant sights are open daily from 6am to 6pm.
