Diving on Anguilla is good and focuses around a number of wrecks that have been deliberately sunk and now attract schools of colourful reef fish and interesting coral formations. Shoal Bay Scuba and Watersports (tel 264/497-4371, ) and Anguillan Divers at Island Harbour (tel 264/497-4636) both offer resort dives and full training; expect to pay US$450 for PADI certification, US$80 for a two-tank dive.

A number of operators offer sport fishing trips. Try Blues Ltd (tel 264/497-6164) or Anguilla Angling Adventures (tel 264/497-5907), who charge around US$500 for a full day's charter in pursuit of tuna, wahoo and mackerel or for bottom-fishing trips for reef fish.

Sailing trips from Sandy Ground to points around the island include those on Sail Chocolat , a 35-foot catamaran that makes lunch and snorkelling trips to the nearby cays (US$80 per person) and sunset cruises (US$50), both with complimentary drinks. Book on 264/497-3394. Other boat tours, including snorkelling and fishing trips and visits to offshore islands are organized by Checkers Fun Tours (tel 264/497-4071) and Shoal Bay Scuba (see above).
