THE AUSTRIA ALPINE AREA, MAKES IT THE MOST MOUNTAINOUS
COUNTRY IN EUROPE, WITH MANY MOUNTAINS REACHING UP TO 3000M
ABOVE SEA LEVEL. THE COUNTRY'S HIGHEST PEAK IS THE
GROSSGLOCKNER. THESE EUROPEAN ALPINE RANGES ARE SHARED BY
LIECHTENSTEIN, GERMANY, ITALY AND SWITZERLAND. LOWLANDS ARE
GENERALLY IN THE EASTERN REGIONS AND ALONG THE VIENNA BASIN.
THE DANUBE RIVER AND ITS TRIBUTARIES DRAIN PRACTICALLY THE
WHOLE COUNTRY. THE BOHEMIAN MASSIF, IS A WOODED HIGHLAND AREA
AND COVERS APPROXIMATELY 10% OF THE TOTAL LAND AREA.
