If you're staying around a while, Gibraltar is not a bad place to
look for work
, although you'll need to be persistent as competition abounds, and if you're working officially, taxes are high. Gibraltar Radio broadcasts vacancies on Tuesday at about noon, but door-to-door (or site-to-site) footslogging is vital. One possibility is crewing work on a yacht - look at the noticeboard in the chandler's store on Marina Bay, or put an ad there yourself; at the end of summer the yacht marina fills up with boats heading for the
Canaries, Madeira
and the
West Indies
