The Department of Tourism's tourist information hotlines are tel 02/524 1703 and tel 02/524 2384. There are many government tourist offices throughout the country, particularly in major tourist destinations. Off the beaten track, however, good information can be harder to find.

United Tourist Promotions publishes a basic range of maps called E-Z Map, covering Manila and other destinations such as Baguio, Batangas, Palawan, Angeles and Davao. These are sold through hotel bookshops for P80. Road maps and country maps can be bought at National Bookstore in Manila. Nelles Verlag publishes two good maps - a country map and a Manila map - which you can buy at home before you travel.
