Many of the essentials, such as food and drink, public transport and entrance fees, remain well below their western equivalents. Accommodation is priced on a different scale, but is still inexpensive as a rule. Note that prices are often much higher in Warsaw than in the rest of the country, and are similarly increased in places which see a lot of foreign visitors, such as Krakow, Gdansk and Poznan
