Most post offices ( posta ) are open Mon-Fri 8am-6pm and Sat 8am-noon. In big towns and resorts, some offices are open longer on Saturdays and for a few hours on Sundays too. Stamps ( znamke ) can also be bought at newsstands.

Public phone boxes use cards ( telekartice ) which come in denominations of 700SIT, 1000SIT, 1700SIT and 3500SIT; you can buy these from post offices, newspaper kiosks and tobacco shops. When making long-distance and international calls it's usually easier to go to the post office, where you're assigned to a cabin and given the bill afterwards.

For a country that has readily embraced the Internet , access is quite poor, even in the capital, and it will be a struggle to find access in other places. Expect to pay around 400SIT/hr.
