SWITZERLAND IS A CENTRAL EUROPEAN COUNTRY, BORDERED BY
FRANCE TO THE WEST, ITALY TO THE SOUTH, AUSTRIA AND
LIECHTENSTEIN TO THE EAST AND GERMANY TO THE NORTH. THE
COUNTRY CAN BE DIVIDED INTO THREE GEOGRAPHICAL AREAS: THE
JURA MOUNTAINS, CENTRAL PLATEAU AND THE ALPS.

THE JURA MOUNTAINS ARE COVERED WITH MEADOWS AND FORESTS
ARE WIDELY SCATTERED THROUGHOUT THE MOUNTAINS.

THE CENTRAL PLATEAU IS A RICH AGRICULTURAL REGION. ITS
HILLS REACH UP TO 450M.

THE ALPS, COUNTRYSIDE VARIES THE MOST, COMPRISING OF SNOWY
PEAKS, GORGES AND GLACIERS. THE HIGHEST POINT IS
DUJOURSPITZE PEAK AT 4560M. MORE THAN 50 OF THE ALPINE
PEAKS REACH OVER 3600M.

ONE OF EUROPE'S MAJOR WATERSHEDS CAN BE FOUND IN THE SNOWY
CENTRAL ALPINE REGION. THE RHONE, THE RHINE, THE TICINO
AND THE EN, ARE FOUR OF THE MOST IMPORTANT RIVERS IN
SWITZERLAND OVER 3600M.
