The Vietnamese government maintains a handful of
tourist promotion offices
around the globe
, but state-owned tourist offices in Vietnam itself are profit-making concerns and not information bureaux. The biggest of these is Vietnamtourism, with offices in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and other major tourist centres.
The best
maps
of Vietnam are the International 1:1,000,000 "Travel Map" of Vietnam and the Nelles 1:1,500,000 map of Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia. The 1:2,000,000 "Vietnam, Cambodia & Laos World Travel Map" from Bartholomew isn't bad either. All but the Nelles map feature plans of Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi. Other useful information
