CAMEROON IS BORDERED BY CHAD IN THE NORTH, NIGERIA TO THE
WEST, CENTRAL AFRICAN REPUBLIC TO THE EAST AND IN THE SOUTH
BY THE REPUBLIC OF CONGO, GABON AND EQUATORIAL GUINEA. THERE
ARE FOUR MAIN GEOGRAPHICAL AREAS, WITH THE TOPOGRAPHY
VARYING FROM GREEN JUNGLES AND SANDY BEACHES THROUGH HILLS
AND MOUNTAINS TO THE SAVANNA AND LAKE CAD. THE SOUTHERN AREA
IS MADE UP OF COASTAL PLAINS AND WOODED AREAS NOT RISING
HIGHER THAN 300M. IN THE CENTRAL AREA FROM THE SANAGA RIVER
TO THE BENOUE RIVER ALTITUDE RISES ENORMOUSLY. THE SAVANNA
PLAIN IS SITUATED IN THE NORTH AND SLOPES GENTLY TOWARDS
LAKE CHAD, WHEREAS IN THE WESTERN REGION MOUNTAINS ARE
PLENTIFUL.
