CHINA IS THE THIRD LARGEST COUNTRY IN THE WORLD, COVERING

EARTHQUAKE ZONE. THE HEART OF THE LOWLANDS IS FOUND IN THE
EAST WITH AN OCCASIONAL MOUNTAIN HERE AND THERE. THE MOST
VARIED TOPOGRAPHY LIES TO THE WEST WITH HIGHLANDS, LOWLANDS
AND VALLEYS THROUGHOUT THIS AREA. MOUNT EVEREST THE WORLDS
HIGHEST MOUNTAIN IS SITUATED ON THE CHINA-NEPAL BORDER.

THE TARMIN RIVER CULMINATING IN THE LAKE LOP NOR TO THE EAST
OF THE TARMIN BASIN IS THE ONLY MAJOR RIVER. THE EASTERN AREA
IS DIVIDED INTO TWO BY THE YANGTZE AND THE HUANG HO RIVERS.
