. Coins come in denominations of 0.01, 0.02, 0.05, 0.10, 0.20, 0.50Lt and bank notes in 1, 2, 5, 10, 20, 50, 100 and 200Lt denominations.
Bank

) opening hours vary, though branches of the Vilniaus Bankas are usually open Monday to Friday 8am-3/4pm. They'll usually give you an advance on your Visa/Mastercard or American Express card and cash
travellers' cheques
(commission 2-3 percent). If you want to exchange cash outside banking hours, head for a
currency exchange
office (
valiutos keitykla
).
Credit cards
are most likely to be accepted in Vilnius, where big hotels, restaurants, luxury stores and petrol stations may let you pay with plastic. Outside the capital, apart from a handful of places in Kaunas and Klaipeda, you're unlikely to have much luck.
