is serviced by almost thirty US and international carriers, with half the Caribbean's flight traffic passing through it. The main US gateways are New York and Miami. A hub for

, San Juan is also serviced by major airlines such as British Airways, Air Canada, Air France, Iberia and Air Jamaica. Jet Blue (tel 800/538-2583) flies direct from New York for as little as US$250 round-trip. A typical high-season return ticket from London runs about ?450.
There are no flights to San Juan from Australasia. International and domestic flights also travel through two smaller airports: Mercedita in Ponce (tel 787/842-6292) and Eugenio Maria de Hostos in Mayaguez (tel 787/833-0148).
