All towns and some villages will have a
tourist office
, giving out free maps and sometimes able to book accommodation and change money. Most railway and motorway service stations also offer a hotel booking service. In large cities tourist offices sell useful
discount cards
giving reductions on public transport, museum entry and the like. They're open long hours every day in the most popular places, but have much reduced times outside the April to September period. The best general
