Tourist information centres run by the Latvian tourist board ( www.latviatravel.com ) are beginning to appear in major centres. The Kummerly & Frey 1:1,000,000 map of the Baltic States includes Latvia, and has a basic street plan of Riga. If you're planning to travel extensively in Latvia it's worth investing in the 1:300,000 Euromap map of Latvia. Jana Seta, Elizabetes 83-85, Riga, is well-stocked with maps and guides, and also publishes its own excellent maps of the region. The Falk Plan of Riga includes enlarged city-centre and old-town sections and also shows public transport routes. Riga in your Pocket is an excellent English-language listings guide to the capital, with details on everything you could possibly need to know, and regular features on attractions elsewhere in the country.
